Our Mission: To encourage those with ancestry from the Baltic Sea duchy of Pomerania to contact others and record its people, share resources and inform others of Pomeranian history, geography, cultural and social influence and worldwide impact.

The Pomeranian Special Interest Group was formed to support the above mission of the former Duchy of Pomerania which was divided between Germany and Poland after World War II.

Remote Zoom Meeting Event Coordinator - One coordinator at approximately 30 hours per year or 2 coordinators at approximately 15 hours per year. Support the Pomeranian Special Interest Group with aspects of planning and hosting 6 virtual events per year for subscribers using Zoom or GoTo Meeting.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Setup a meeting in Zoom or GoTo Meeting with manual or automated approval registration
• Process registration requests and respond to escalated registration questions and issues.
• Monitor registration numbers
• Pull attendance reports and ensure information is accurate in Zoom or GoTo Meeting.
• Host virtual meetings - provide speaker and attendee support
• Edit and post virtual and in-person event recordings as needed
• Send out reminder notifications to meeting registrants prior to the meeting
• Send out handout materials to meeting attendees

Skills Needed

• Experience with Zoom Meeting or GoTo Meeting platforms
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Must be accurate, organized, and detail-oriented, yet flexible and willing to help where needed
• Demonstrate excellent listening and problem-solving skills
• Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Pomerania Prussia interest preferred

Remote Facebook Administrator - Approximately 4 hours per month
Support the Pomeranian Special Interest Group's Facebook page.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page roles and settings
• Search for appropriate and interesting content to post to the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page
• Create and delete posts to the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page
• Respond to and delete comments and posts from the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page
• Send messages from the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page
• Create ads
• Monitor the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page
• Monitor the Die Pommerschen Leute Facebook page reports and distribute as needed

Skills Needed

• Facebook experience
• Pomerania Prussia interest preferred

Remote Periodical Coordinator - 12 hours per year
Before the final electronic version of the quarterly periodical, Die Pommerschen Leute, can be eMailed to subscribers as a pdf file, it must be compressed to a size mail systems can handle and, as a convience for our subscribers, make the internet links live or 'clickable'.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Use Adobe or open source software to prepare the final version of DPL before it is eMailed.

Skills Needed

• Knowedge of or willingness to learn how to further process pdf files.
